The Rugby Six Nations 2016 kicks off this weekend with Scotland vs England, Ireland vs Wales and France vs Italy. Here’s how to watch Rugby Six Nations 2016 online – live stream the 2016 Rugby Six Nations from aPC, laptop, phone or tablet.
The RBS Six Nations Championship starts on Saturday 6th February with France vs Italy and Scotland vs England. Matches are then held on most weekends until Saturday 19th March when Wales play Italy, Ireland face Scotland and France takes on England.
All the Rugby Six Nations 2016 matches will be streamed live on the BBC or ITV in the UK, with ITV having the rights to the majority of the England matches. Scroll down to the fixtures list for details of which channel each match will be streamed on.
To watch live on a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet you can either use a Freeview app such as TVCatchup, or you can use the BBC or ITV’s own streaming apps, iPlayer and ITV Hub. All three apps are free to download to a phone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play, and can be accessed in a web browser on a PC or laptop.
If you’re using TVCatchup, select the relevant channel and close the advert to begin live streaming. If you’re using iPlayer select the channel from the menu, then hit the top frame to watch what’s on now. It’s a similar process for ITV Hub – select the channel from the tabs at the top of the page, then hit the large Watch live button.
If you are not on an unlimited mobile data contract on your phone or tablet you should ensure that you are connected to Wi-Fi. To stream live rugby matches on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone you also need to have a valid TV Licence.
ecause BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub are also catch-up on-demand apps, you can use them to re-watch rugby matches that have already finished. You can view a list of recent programmes under each channel tab, or use the search function to find the exact match you’re looking for.
As before, if you are not on an unlimited mobile data contract on your phone or tablet you should ensure that you are connected to Wi-Fi. However, you do not need a TV Licence to watch already-broadcast Rugby Six Nations matches on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub are geo-restricted outside the UK, but that doesn’t mean you can’t watch the Rugby Six Nations when you’re overseas. All you need do is download a VPN that will mask your IP address and make it appear to the app that you are in fact in the UK. You can then browse to iPlayer or ITV Player in your web browser and watch whatever you like.
